This season I will mostly be wearing a lovely orthopoedic thumb support. Such style, such glamour. Well at least I'l be clean because our bathroom is finished. The whole experience was, apart from the lack of cleanliness, totally painless and I would definitely recommend Classic Bathrooms on the Long Mile Road to anyone. I must organise a before and after shot.
I picked up my thumb support in a place called Physio Needs. It always amazes me when you visit these unusual businesses how busy they are. Check out their website - it's fairly crap but I am very curious to know what the 7th item is, just above the thumb supports...
We are just watching "Hanging with Hector" and although it's good, Hector is doing that really annoying thing of speaking to people in English with their accent. He did it all the way through Asia and it bugs the bejaysus out of me.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
3epkano presents The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
The Foley Show - Macdara Smith.
Sat 9 Oct | 7.00pm | Spiegeltent
Tickets: ?13
This 1919 silent masterpiece, directed by Robert Wiene, tells the murderously macabre and grotesque tale of Dr. Caligari and Cesare, a homicidal somnambulist, and the havoc they wreak in the small German town of Holstenwall and the lives of hapless Jane and Francis in particular.
The screening will have a live musical accompaniment, composed and performed by 3epkano whose line-up includes Cameron Doyle (electric guitar), Matthew Nolan (electric guitar), Richard McCullough (keyboards/organ), Leoba Petrie (cello), Abigail Smith (viola), James Mackin (drums and percussion) and Laurence Mackin (bass guitar).
Foley.
Nearly every film we see contains foley- the sound of actors? actions. Punches, footsteps, bones breaking, a lovers? caress- all examples of foley, all performed in sync in a studio. And all invented by an Irishman in Hollywood in the 1920s, when silent movies became talkies. Macdara Smith, a musician and foley artist, originally from Dublin, now living and working in Paris, after a short history of foley will give a live demonstration.
Performed by:3epkano
