Pain relief I have decided to use a very new and experimental form of pain relief. It is called Constant Endorphin Release (CER). It is well known that the release of endorphins is a powerful form of stress and pain relief and counteracts the effects of adrenalin, the panic hormone on oxytocin, the labour hormone. This system involves encouraging your birth partner to spend some time preparing and researching the best jokes they can find during one's pregnancy. They rank these jokes from good to best, taking into account the expectant mother's personal preferences. At the onset of labour they start telling the lowest ranking jokes and work their way through the collection during the course of the labour. Props, books, and in some cases, video recordings of the expectant mothers favourite sitcoms/ stand up comedians can be used if the facilities are available. By the end of this process the mother should be laughing all the way to the birth.

Dodododiddleleediddleleedo Countdown timer added. Hey that won't freak me out everytime I look at the site...!
Am Must go and switch on the new series of Am
Bouncing baby So here's the latest from Eumom on Frisky's progress:
As reported in last post, according to the nurse in my clinic, Frisky is behaving itself and is presenting cephalically which although it may be a weight off my mind is a massive weight on other parts of my poor tired body!
Certainly feeling a lot heavier already. I was tootling about town after work this evening and I really felt tired. Stopped off in the Australian Ice Cream Company for a chocolate milkshake - yummy.
I am not terribly inspired today. Himself is still away but will be home tomorrow. Abs is staying in the meantime which is very sweet of her - I think she thinks I am going to go into labour just like that...!
Most babies have changed into a head-first (cephalic) presentation by now, although up to a third will still do so in the next four weeks. You baby is gaining weight fast, and you will be putting on around 500g (1lb) per week at this stage.

Proud Mum So Frisky is on its starters orders and in position, ready for the go. Went to the nurse this morning and the clever thing has got itself exactly where its supposed to be. Hurrah!
Just call us Beyonce and JayZee I have decided that a new project for me and Himself will be a duet for the next Himself Family Get-together: we are the only couple in the family who don't do a double act (and God knows he needs all the help he can get :D). My favourite duet of the evening was P & N doing "The Lakes of Ponchartrain" - beautiful. (I actually thought that was Poncha Trail until a few moments ago - we live and learn)
Big thanks to Doireann for ringing to ask me how I am and for no other reason. Helped me in off the Big Fear Ledge.
Big sorry to Mileelers who is still waiting for a reply to her mail - forgive me.

The Fear I got it very bad yesterday. Very bad. Too tired, no iron supplement, sunday night blues all rolled into one. Not to mention nearly dropping Himself's 4 month old niece in front of his mum and 2 sisters, not having a tumble dryer or indeed a house to live in.
Sorted it all out today by ticking 2 more bizarre items off my hospital list: breast pads and the hugest sanitary pads I have ever seen. Ah nothing like retail therapy. Speaking of which, must add tokens for clothes shops to my wish list below - my wardrobe will need a serious overhaul during the January sales!
B&O are the heroes of the week after giving us 3 big bags of baby clothes. I expressed the idea that this might be a slight overkill and both of them declared "Oh no! You'll use it all - a lot!" Crazy days.
Timer I must rustle up a javascript countdown timer for the site - another thing to add to my list of site improvements to be done whilst waiting for the Grand Entrance.
It's nearly dinnertime. I'm chatting to Arthur Daly and still want to mail Mileelers in Chile. AND distraction of all distraction: EastEnders is sounding v. exciting what with all this talk about Dirty Den still being alive... I'm off!
