Walkin' it Got my new hiking boots yesterday evening.

Workin' it Saturday morning and I am in work. Don't mind that too much as I would have just been sleeping if I hadn't come home in here. But could I have made more of a haimes of the morning? I don't think so.
I came in to work on a lecture I am giving on Wednesday morning and to let the Eircom technician in to install DSL. I was chuffed to bits with myself that I managed to get here before 9. I let myself in, dunped my stuff on the floor in the reception, wrote a note for the techie to ring my mobile when he got here, went out to the front door to stick note to the door and let the fecking inner door lock behind me. I'm in the vestibule, my phone, keys, purse and COFFEE are all in the reception. AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH.
Stood there cursing for about 5 minutes.
Eventually figured the only thing to do was to go and ring my long suffering boss. Our lovely neighbours across the the road in the Alliance Francaise let me use their phone. Fair play to my boss, herself and her daughter arrived half an hour later to let me in.
And not long after the techie arrived and hooked us up. Hurrah.
Since then have been mailing the Travelling Wibblies about all the news and working on the lecture for Wednesday. I have the lecture sorted on Powerpoint but I am supposed to give them a practical exercise as well based on itbut I can't think of a single thing to get them to.
I might just show them my new list of amazing web resources including Blogger.com...

Hey, hey, LBJ, get the hell out of Vietnam Going to protest this evening outside the US Embassy. 6pm See yis all there!

"The Main Dublin protest on Day X will be at the US Embassy at 6pm. Again you need to start spreading the word now, giving out leaflets telling everybody to get to the US embassy the evening of any attack. For those in Dublin City Centre we will have a presence outside Dail Eireann from 12am on the day of any attack. Anybody who works near by or who is off and can get down should. If as looks likely Day X is Thursday our protest outside the Dail will coincide with a debate in the Dail on Shannon. The Dail has been reconvened especially to debate the issue. This will be an imporetaqnce last chance to demand our government have nothing to do with this war. The protest will go on from at least 12 till 2pm."

White Scarf For Peace.
A spontaneous war protest has started in Montreal after a popular radio host here announced that Mrs. George W. Bush had cancelled a meeting with a group of women at the White House because several of them planned to attend the meeting with a white scarf round their necks as a silent symbol of their desire for peace.
This symbol had power as it disturbed Mrs. Bush. This story has triggered a grassroots email campaign asking those committed to peace in the world to wear a white scarf. If everyone who disagreed with the war were to wear a white scarf around their neck, tie a white handkerchief to their back-packs, their attach case, their school bags, white pennants from car antennas, white flags on balconies and hanging in front of houses the world over, would this not be a powerful message to send to our leaders?
Sometimes images and symbols are more powerful than words. If you feel that this idea has any validity, please join the email campaign and pass this on to your network.

Aaah Wexford Spent the weekend visiting himseld's family in Wexford. Wasn't the brightest bunny on Saturday morning after an evening spent in Anseo (formerly Cons) of Camden St. for some drinking and later Thomas the Skank Engine at Gray's of Newmarket for some dancin'.
The weather was amazing all weekend. We visited Himself's eldest brother and his wife who are releasing an album in Wexford Arts Centre on 28.03.2003 so we'll be back in Wexford real soon. Ann "forced" me to drink loads of really nice red wine. Wyndham Estate Bin 555 - a shiraz. Yum.

Blooming great And Melanie with only a month left to the birth, was looking fabulous.

Child labour On the way home from Wexford we stopped off in Scart to visit the Big Bro and the Ladies. Himself and I were left in charge and had a grand afternoon with the Two Little Ladies, running around the garden, playing the guitar. We got the older one to wash our car which was great craic altogether. The younger one had to be carried everywhere and she is some lump! Of course when the parents arrived home who was carrying the sleeping child? Himself and not muggins here who had been carrying her around all afternoon. Typical.

Home again, home again, jiggedy jig So we gave B's friend a lift home. "Maybe we should go the back way, up through Wicklow instead of Kildare. The traffic might be better" says he, "I know the way". We figured why not? until we reached Enniscorthy. For God's sake!
